Responsible practice is essential to meaningful development
Trust is fundamental when working with children, young people, families, schools, and institutions.
Wholesome Character designs and delivers programmes with attention to participant wellbeing, age appropriateness, clear expectations, responsible communication, and respectful learning environments.
Our principles
- Content and facilitation should be suitable for the participant's age and context.
- Learning environments should be respectful, inclusive, supportive, and free from avoidable harm.
- Facilitators should maintain clear professional boundaries and responsible communication.
- Parents, caregivers, schools, or institutions should be involved where appropriate.
- Participant information should be collected, used, stored, and shared carefully.
- Concerns about wellbeing or safety should be escalated through appropriate processes.
- Coaching and development programmes should remain within their proper scope and should not be presented as therapy or crisis care.
Before a programme
We clarify objectives, audience, delivery format, responsibilities, communication channels, consent or participation requirements, and any relevant safeguarding considerations.
During a programme
Facilitators use age-appropriate methods, set clear expectations, encourage respectful participation, and respond responsibly to concerns.
After a programme
Feedback, follow-up, and reporting are handled in a manner appropriate to the participant, programme, and partner arrangement.
Raising a concern
If you have a safeguarding or participant-wellbeing concern relating to a Wholesome Character programme, please contact info@wholesomecharacter.com and mark the subject line "Safeguarding concern". If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency or child-protection service.
